Clan Rose International was well represented at the Bethabara Highland Games in Winston Salem, NC. The festival Scottish Athletes, Pipe and Drum bands, the Parade of Tartans, battle axe competitions, live music, food, and clan representation. Clan Rose International was represented by tent hosts Eric Rose and family and Brian Michael Rose. The day concluded with a traditional Scottish rainstorm and a nice meal together at a local restaurant. 

Stone Mountain, GA - 50th Anniversary 
October 14-16, 2022    
Stone Mountain, Georgia

Clan Rose International was well represented at the 2022 Stone Mountain Highland Games and Scottish Festival. This was the 50th year for this historic festival and the tent for Clan Rose International was strategically located in a location providing high visibility. Eric Rose served as Tent Host and he was assisted by his family Tina, Samantha, and Ryder. Brian Michael Rose and Bonnie Santore from the Clan Rose International Council of Elders also provided support and help. Many members and followers of CRI were in attendance and showed their support of this Clan. 

Grandfather Mountain Highland Games and
Gathering of Scottish Clans
July 7-10, 2022
Linville, NC    

Clan Rose International was one of over 100 clans and societies represented at the 66th annual Grandfather Mountain Highland Games and Gathering of Scottish Clans. Grandfather Mountain was where Clan Rose first came together in North America with an informal gathering in 1969 and where we were formally charted in 1970. In keeping with tradition, our Council of Elders for Clan Rose International began the process of formally signing the new charter at the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games in 2022. 
The Games opened on Thursday with Clan Tents, vendors, and highland games. Clan Rose International was represented at the Calling of the Clans on Thursday evening. Friday and Saturday was filled with introducing numerous new followers to Clan Rose International as well as great music, Pipe and Drum band competitions, heavy Highland athletics, sheepherding, and renewing acquaintances with other clan leaders. Clan Rose International athletes Jason and Morgan King competed in Highland games where Jason finished sixth in the competition. On Sunday, someone must have special ordered weather from Scotland because it was a soggy day. Nevertheless Clan Rose International had a strong showing in the Parade of Tartans. 
Tent hosts were Larry and Carol Rose. On Saturday and Sunday we were joined by CRI Presiding Elder Brian Michael Rose and his family. Roxanne Rose was also present throughout the weekend to assist wherever needed.  

Green Hill Highland Games    
August 27, 2022    
Salem, Virginia

Clan Rose International was one of many clans that gathered on August 27 for the 12th year of the Green Hill Highland Games. The games included live music from SYR, Kinnfolk, the Highland Pipes and Drums, and the Shenandoah Valley Pipes and Drums. Visitors enjoyed watching professional and amateur athletics, rugby, visiting clans, and vendors. Eric and Tina Rose were tent hosts and they were assisted by Ryder and Samantha. 

Smoky Mountain Scottish Festival​
May 20-22, 2022
Townsend, TN

Clan Rose International was one of approximately 50 clans represented at the Smoky Mountain Scottish Festival and Highland Games of 2022. Held in the community of Townsend, Tennessee, in the shadow of the Great Smoky Mountains, the event provided exciting Highland Games, Pipe and Drum band competition (including the Knoxville Pipe and Drum Band with CRIs own John V. Rose), clan tents, and numerous vendors. Clan Rose International participated in the Calling of the Clans on Friday evening, the Kirkin O’ The Tartans on Sunday morning, the Parade of Tartans on Sunday (with assistance from Matthew and Laura Rose), as well as greeting numerous new friends and followers of CRI through the clan tent on Saturday and Sunday. Tent hosts for Clan Rose International were Larry and Carol Rose. 

Upper East Tennessee Celtic Festival and Highland Games 
September 2-4, 2020
Johnson City, Tennessee    

The 30th Annual Upper East Tennessee Celtic Festival and Highland Games was held at the Tipton-Haynes Historic Site in Johnson City, Tennessee. Clan Rose International was one of several clans represented with tents and clan representatives. Friday night was the Calling of the Clans followed by a reception for clan representatives. The Highland Games presented by the Southeastern Highlands Athletics Group (SHAG) began at 8:00 AM with other activities to follow. Music was provided by the Real Blarney Stoners, The Cross Jacks, harpist Amy Vining, Spacerose-Jillian Jensen, bagpiper Mike Poole, and the Knoxville Pipe and Drum Band (with our own John V. Rose). Vendors provided merchandise and food offerings. A Kirkin o’ the Tartans was held on Sunday morning. Clan Rose International was represented by tent hosts Larry and Carol Rose. 

Radford Highlanders Festival  
October 8, 2022
Radford, Virginia    

Following an absence of Highland Games at Radford due to Covid, the Radford Highlanders Festival resumed on October 8, 2022, with heavyweight games, vendors, and Scottish clans resumed. SYR and House of Hamill provided Celtic music throughout the day. Clan Rose International was represented with a clan tent and enjoyed inquiries by a number of people. Eric Rose served as Tent Host for Clan Rose International.  

A TASTE OF SCOTLAND FESTIVAL    
JUNE 17-19, 2022    
FRANKLIN, NC

Clan Rose International was represented at A Taste of Scotland Festival during Father’s Day weekend in the Western North Carolina town of Franklin. The festival included a Parade of Tartans through downtown Franklin followed by a ceilidh on Friday night. Saturday’s events included Highland Games, great music, vendors, and of course, Clan tents including ours. The weekend concluded on Sunday with a Kirkin o’ the Tartans. Clan Rose International was represented by Larry and Carol Rose. 

Other 2022 Events With Clan Rose International Presence

Asheville Celtic Festival, Fletcher, North Carolina. February 19, 2022. This was an indoor Celtic festival with music, food, vendors, and Highland athletics demonstrations. Clan Rose International did not host a tent but our clan was represented by Eric and Tina Rose and family and Larry and Carol Rose. 


Sedalia Celtic Festival and Highland Games, Big Island, Virginia. March 26, 2022. This was the return of Highland Games to this area following a two year absence due to Covid. The festival has Highland Games, sheep herding, pipe bands, and sheep herding. Eric Rose hosted a tent for Clan Rose International but the festival ended prematurely due to a strong windstorm. 


Loch Norman Highland Games, Huntersville, North Carolina. April 9-10, 2022. Like others, this event was resumed following a two-year absence due to Covid. The games offered Highland dancing, Pipe and Drum bands, Highland athletics, Celtic rock, merchants, historic reenactments, and children’s activities. Clan Rose International did not have a clan tent at this festival but did have a presence with Brian Michael Rose and Eric Rose meeting past and new followers of our Clan.
